It was cold when I got up - a cold that made me consider bagging the scheduled ride in favor of going back to sleep, but I had miles to go and a service appointment to keep. If you detect a hint of Robert Frost in that sentence, you’re right and it’s apropos given a morning temperature that started with a two. A warmer day was in the forecast, however, so I
geared up to go. I got an unexpected bonus of a few degrees increase when the battery, numbed by the cold, refused to start the bike and I had to take the time to learn how to jump-start an R1200RT, which turned out to be fairly easy.
Royal Enfield is proud to introduce the all-new 2022 Classic 350 motorcycle to North America. With over 3 million Classic motorcycles sold in more than 75 countries, the Classic is the best-selling Royal Enfield in the 120-year history of the brand. Completely redesigned from the ground up, the Classic 350 marks the beginning of the
next chapter of this iconic model.
The design inspiration of the Classic range dates back to the Royal Enfield G2 350 Bullet in 1948, a motorcycle that revolutionized the industry with the introduction of the articulating swingarm. While this innovation transformed the
performance of motorcycles at the time, the modern Classic 350 invites us to rediscover the experience of pure motorcycling. Nostalgic style cues blend with a confidence-inspiring ride, with modern touches and a refined overall feel that celebrates the original unhurried, uncomplicated feel of an authentic handcrafted motorcycle.
Just a quick reminder that the NEW 2022 GIVI USA Catalog is here, easy to read online or downloadable in PDF format.
All the new products that were introduced at the EICMA Show last November are included, as well as the updated application list, with the latest motorcycle make and models.
From now until early July, the five nearest planets to Earth will slowly join a celestial conga line across the pre-dawn sky.
These rare, but not once-in-a-lifetime conjunctions offer an excellent opportunity to learn what planets look like, find them with a telescope or binoculars, and introduce some children to stargazing.
Kawasaki Ninja Models To Be Featured In “Top Gun: Maverick”
Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell returns to the big screen, once again riding a Kawasaki Ninja
There are few motorcycle movie scenes more iconic than Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell riding his Kawasaki Ninja®GPZ 900R along the flight line at United States Navy Fighter Weapons School in Miramar, California back in 1986. That scene helped cement Mitchell’s “Maverick” image as a TOPGUN hero.
36 years later, Maverick is not only back at TOPGUN, but back riding a Kawasaki, only today he chooses to ride the supercharged Kawasaki Ninja H2™ Carbon in the new Paramount Pictures blockbuster “Top Gun: Maverick” opening May 27th, 2022.
Scientists studying a fossil site in North Dakota unearthed a leg believed to be from a dinosaur that actually died on the day of the infamous asteroid strike blamed for wiping out the monstrous creatures. The amazing discovery was reportedly made by researchers working on a BBC documentary centered around the fateful turn of events which spelled the end of the dinosaurs' dominion over the planet.
During an excavation at the fossil-rich location known as Tanis, the team found what they describe as a "perfectly preserved" thescelosaurus limb that, remarkably, still contained some of the creature's skin.
The room is dirt cheap and smells it. I’ve been on the road for five weeks now, mostly camping to save money, and as I lay on the squeaky bed counting flies on the ceiling, I’m suddenly sick for fresh air. But nothing feels fresh in this part of Philly. The only thing I can think to do is pack up the bike and ride.
Before J.J. Abrams took over the world of Star Wars with The Force Awakens and the Rise of Skywalker, he revived another classic sci-fi franchise with 2009’s Star Trek, a movie so filled with lens flares it was difficult to see. But from what people could make out, it seemed pretty good! Check out the video below:
Mark Byers sent me a clip from UK's The Voice, which made me, naturally, think of The Voice Himself. April 22 was his 81st birthday, and he is still going strong. Since seeing him over 20 years ago, he still has his wonderful tone and stage presence. He'll be teaming up with Van Morrison for a concert at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, NY (anyone have tickets they want to sell me?) Enjoy this full
concert.
The glorious days of Spring are here and the riding is GREAT! Here's to sunny skies, warm days and long miles bringing you to great adventures. We'll see you on the road!
