The Same Old, Same Roads

Eleven straight years - that’s how long we’ve been going to the Gray Ghost in Vermont. We missed the Backroads trip in July, so we scheduled our own in August, about the time we’d normally go for a “Summer Squeeze.” It was a glorious sojourn under amazingly blue skies with low humidity and we only had rain a couple times, neither of which we cared about. We missed the “family,” but we still had a relaxing time and we made new friends too.

15-YearOld MotoAmerica Star Goes to Europe

Joining the FIM Superbike World Championship paddock this weekend is the first edition of the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European SuperFinale, which is set to offer 25 young riders the unique opportunity to earn a spot on next year’s #yamahar3blucrueuropeancup grid.

Featuring at the Portimao WorldSBK round this weekend and open to riders aged 14-20, the R3 SuperFinale will consist of two races each offering 25 points to the winner. By the end of the #event, the overall winner will then earn a place in the 2023 #yamahar3blucrueuropeancup, with support from Yamaha.

From there, they then have the chance to follow in the footsteps of the European Cup’s two winners, #ikergarciaabella and #enzovalentim, by competing for a supported ride in the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship.

Over the years dozens of these helms made their way into museums across the globe, while few remain in Kiribati. The Smithsonian actually has three, the British Museum five, and Sweden’s Världskulturmuseerna “at least eight,” according to their digitization curator Magnus Johansson. India to host its First MotoGP Race

in 2023 at the Buddh International Circuit

It has been officially announced that India’s Buddh International Circuit will host the country’s first MotoGP race in 2023.

"We’re very proud to announce that Buddh International Circuit will be on the 2023 calendar,” said Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta. “We have a lot of fans in India and we’re excited to be able to bring the sport to them. India is also a key market for the motorcycle industry and therefore, by extension, for MotoGP as the pinnacle of the two-wheeled world."

Further Proof that California

is its Own Country

While Italy technically has a larger population than California, having a population of 60.3 million compared to the state’s 39.5 million, the latter is obviously bigger in terms of area. As you can see from the map, California easily fits over the entirety of Italy, even crossing over a few borders into Swiss territory. To give a bit of perspective on the size of the country versus the area of the state, let’s look at some numbers: Italy is 301,340 sq km, while California’s is a solid 403,882 sq km, making the country 74.61 percent the size of the state.

Adventure riding wasn't anything I was originally interested in. When I started on two wheels, I gravitated toward a more traditional aesthetic, riding a Triumph Bonneville and dreaming of a Ducati Monster S2R 1000 or a Honda VTR1000F Super Hawk. So when my dad showed up for a ride with a Suzuki V-Strom back in 2005, I just kinda dismissed it as old Papa Bear being "out of touch."
I was wrong. Turns out dad was a bit ahead of his time.

Waterfall Tour of New Jersey

New Jersey is pretty tiny, so we often leave the state for road trips. While that’s all well and good, there are some pretty epic rides you can take without ever leaving our borders. We have well over a dozen different waterfalls to enjoy, each one unique. Though it would be fantastic to see them all, we wanted this trip to be doable in one day. This waterfall road trip through New Jersey features eight spectacular waterfalls that are some of the very best in the state. The trip itself takes 4.5 hours of riding time, for directions, view the map on the link.
