Motorcycling attracts “characters” and that’s an apt description of my old friend Red. Picture a garrulous, stumpy, red-haired, Italian/Anglo,
Navy-veteran, motorcyclist from Philly. When Red got out of the Navy in the 60’s and came to work at Patuxent River, the base was in a heyday of flight tests of interesting, and usually dangerous, new aircraft. There were several squadrons with tons of Navy men here and the local community reflected the wide-open Navy lifestyle. The main road out of the base was lined with pawn shops, bars, and strip joints that catered to sailors who sallied forth with their pay. St. Mary’s County was known as
“little Las Vegas” because gambling was legal: even the local Rexall Drug Store had 35 slot machines.
For the last few weeks we've been highlighting some of the places you can visit during our Grand Finale Road Rally. From
great museums to drug addled bears, to the Great American Pastime... give a click to see what you can experience on this...

Here we have a new video, released yesterday, showcasing a bit more about Triumph's foray into the world of

Summer is the most challenging season when it comes to physical and strenuous activities. Whatever sports
you're playing, heat is a prime concern, especially for athletes. With this in mind, Zerofit with extensive research for cooling garments, came up with Cold Skin. Not only can you beat the summer heat with this base layer, but it also allows you to have more freedom of movement.

The war was over - Japan had surrendered. The third plutonium core created by the United States, which scientists at Los Alamos National Lab had been preparing for another attack, was no longer needed as a weapon. For the moment, the lab’s nuclear scientists were allowed to keep the sphere,
an alloy of plutonium and gallium that would become known as the demon core.
Twinkling skylines, endless deserts, vast oceans: The coveted window seat sometimes provides mesmerizing in-flight
entertainment.
Photographer Julieanne Kost discovered this when she challenged herself to overcome her fear of flying via window-seat photography. Instead of looking out at 30,000 feet of empty air, she focused on the immense scrolling landscape below her.
Remember when it was alright to have fun, and no one ever seemed offended? We here at The Backroads Report will never offend anyone -unless you deserve it - but that's on you. Like Sgt. Hulka famously said," Lighten up Francis." We say play the Vapors!
Motorcycle museums are amazing places. Most of us are not rich enough to own dozens of vintage Brit bikes or a garage full of pre-World War II Harley-Davidsons, or a John Britten racebike, and so on. But we all have enough money to head down to a motorcycle museum and
see rare, exotic bikes for only the cost of a few bucks’ entry fee.
